It started with my own dog. Every time he came back from a run or the yard, he brought the smell home with him — into the house, and into his own bed. Keeping up meant spraying him down constantly or booking grooming so often it got expensive fast, and neither actually kept things fresh for long.

So I started Spratt Labs to fix it properly: a bed that purifies the air around your dog, keeps the bed and your dog fresh, and uses gentle, safe ingredients that are actually good for them. That's SprattOS™ — and the Spratt Bed is the first thing we've built with it. Backing the pre-launch puts you in the room for the part I care about most: getting every detail right before we make thousands of them.

Health & safety first

The tech is smart. What goes in the air is safer.

Before we designed a single feature, our chemical engineers spent months on two questions: how do you clear the air around a dog without anything that could harm them — and can the same ingredients actually do your dog some good? The answers shaped every choice we made: the way it diffuses, what goes in each fragrance, and everything we deliberately left out.

Dry diffusion, no wet mist

A dry, cold-air style dispersion instead of a wet ultrasonic mister — so there's no added humidity, nothing soaking the bed, and no sticky residue on your floors.

Water-based, not concentrated oils

Our engineers ruled out concentrated essential oils early — they can be hard on a dog's liver and airways. The fragrance is built on gentle, water-based plant botanicals instead.

Safe for cats, too

Many home scents that are fine for dogs are toxic to cats. Every material is screened so the same air is safe for the whole household — cats included.

None of the bad stuff

No phthalates, no hormone disruptors, no added VOCs, and no synthetic “fragrance” — the ingredients most often tied to headaches and breathing irritation.

The things people ask first.

Is my $5 reservation a charge for the bed?

No. It's a small, fully refundable deposit that holds your founder pricing and your spot in the first run. You're only charged for a Spratt Bed when the Kickstarter campaign launches and you confirm your pledge.

Does the bed spray on its own when my dog gets in?

No — this is the part people most often get wrong. The bed senses when your dog gets in, but it never sprays on its own. Every release runs on settings you choose in the app — on a schedule, only while your dog is away, or a set time after they get in. Run it on demand or pause it entirely.

Then what do the sensors do?

They detect when your dog gets in or leaves the bed, and they track your dog's weight over time. The sensing is deliberately separate from the air refresh, which you control. Because the hardware is already there, future SprattOS™ updates can add more health insights down the line.

Are the scents safe for dogs, cats, and kids?

Yes. SprattOS™ uses dry diffusion rather than wet sprays, and the fragrances were developed and confirmed by chemical engineers to be safe for families and pets — including cats, which many household scents are not. You set the intensity in the app, and it can deodorize fragrance-free. The full ingredient breakdown is shared with pledgers.

When does the Spratt Bed ship?

We're targeting first deliveries in early 2027 after the Kickstarter campaign closes and tooling is finalized. Founders ship first, and we'll post timeline updates the whole way.

What happens if the campaign doesn't fund?

If we don't hit our goal, every reservation deposit is refunded in full — that's the point of keeping it refundable. You risk nothing by reserving early.
